Building Jadex Strategic Group: The Value of Simplicity
By: Edwin Hill, CEO Jadex Strategic Group
Introduction: The Foundation of Jadex Strategic Group
Reflecting on the development of Jadex Strategic Group, I spent considerable time over the weekend revisiting my approach to building the organization. What continually echoed in my mind was a familiar principle I first encountered during my years in the Navy: the acronym KISS—Keep It Simple, Stupid. Though I cannot attribute the phrase to one specific mentor, its repetition throughout my naval experience left a lasting impression. Upon researching, I discovered it originated in the 1960s within the US Navy and was later associated with leadership in Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works projects.
The KISS Principle and Its Application
The essence of KISS—Keep It Simple, Stupid—has become central to my mindset and the way I conduct business at Jadex Strategic Group. Even our latest offering, Presidium, is built on this concept. In organizations that must navigate regulatory compliance, such as those governed by government controls, simplicity is crucial.
Strategic Choice for Cloud-Native Operations
Our business has embraced a cloud-native model, avoiding on-premises systems altogether. Business phones, file servers, and regulatory compliance tools are all cloud-based. When considering technology structures—Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), or on-premises solutions—we chose SaaS for its minimal management requirements. SaaS allows us to rely on trusted vendors to handle the majority of technical and regulatory demands, enabling the business to remain agile and responsive.
Benefits for Compliance-Oriented Organizations
For organizations working with regulatory bodies, the simplicity of SaaS is invaluable. It streamlines operations and maximizes return on investment. Simplicity becomes especially important when business decisions risk being influenced by personal preferences and emotional attachments to specific tools or platforms, such as CRMs like SAP, Salesforce, or Workday. After thorough analysis, we concluded that Microsoft could meet approximately 90–95% of our business and compliance needs.
Presidium: A Simplified Compliance Solution
Our Presidium offering, which is a government community cloud (GCC) high environment for CMMC compliance, is designed to keep compliance straightforward. Introducing multiple technologies from varied vendors can complicate security, patching, and integration. Instead, we provide a turnkey solution that allows clients to meet regulatory requirements efficiently.
Compliance Backed by Teams—Not Lone “Experts”
One of the key differentiators in our compliance strategy is that we don’t depend on one-off “compliance” experts who are expected to know everything about every framework, regulation, and technology. Instead, we leverage Microsoft’s dedicated compliance and system implementation teams, who work directly with regulatory entities—be it NIST, CMMC, or other frameworks. These are teams that meet with regulators, discuss the nuances of controls, and tailor their technology solutions to meet those requirements. The outcomes of these collaborations are then incorporated into Microsoft 365’s Compliance Manager Assessments, which are continuously updated and made available to customers. This approach not only simplifies our job but also demystifies compliance for our clients. Personally, I’d much rather rely on the expertise of specialized teams with direct, up-to-date regulatory insight and deep familiarity with their own technology stack than on advice from a random CMMC assessor, advisor, or guru.
Empowering Clients Through Education and Support
Transitioning to a fully cloud-based Microsoft environment requires some adjustment, especially for those new to the platform. Some competitors may use scare tactics, suggesting you lack the skills to manage such an environment. We reject that notion. Jadex Strategic Group is committed to empowering clients with the resources, support, and technical training needed to confidently manage secure and compliant environments.
Flexible Support for Your Business Needs
Whether you seek a turnkey solution or wish to streamline current operations by reducing redundant tools, Jadex Strategic Group stands ready to help. Our team of engineers, implementers, and trainers provide ongoing support and expert guidance. You can manage your environment, and we’re here to help if needed.
Conclusion: Your Path to Compliance
If you are interested in achieving CMMC Level 2 or FedRAMP compliance through a simplified, effective approach, reach out to Jadex Strategic Group. We are committed to helping your organization lead in security and compliance, simply and efficiently.
